How do I clean old fly tying materials?

The Blue Dawn Ultra Dishwashing Liquid, Original Scent does a wonderful job of removing any dirt, oil, fats, or residue that may have soiled the material.

Start by soaking the feathers or materials in warm water and work in a liberal amount of liquid soap.

Rinse them thoroughly with cool water, and pat them dry with paper towels.  Let the air dry on a rack or hang them on a close line to dry.

For faster drying use a hair dryer and use your fingers to stoke the material back to its original shape.
